About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our Client's Team in Houston TX. This is an onsite role, ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong Oracle/SQL expertise, a solid understanding of data warehousing, and the flexibility to work with multiple cloud environments (Snowflake, AWS, Azure).
The ideal candidate is not just a reporting specialist — we're looking for a data professional who enjoys problem-solving, collaborating with business stakeholders, and delivering robust data solutions that support critical applications and workflows.
This is a 12 month contract position, with likelihood to extend
Responsibilities
Engage directly with business stakeholders to gather and refine data requirements.
Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, and application-related data workflows.
Work with large data sets across Oracle, SQL Server, and cloud-based data platforms.
Ensure system uptime and provide production support for existing applications.
Troubleshoot user queries and data-related issues efficiently.
Participate in the implementation and optimization of data warehousing solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, reliability, and performance.
Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on experience in SQL development, Oracle PL/SQL, or similar technologies.
Proven experience with data warehousing concepts and ETL workflows.
Familiarity with cloud environments such as Snowflake, AWS, or Azure.
Strong analytical mindset and the ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with business and technical teams.
Experience with production support and troubleshooting in live data environments.
Preferred Skills
Experience handling large data volumes (millions of rows) efficiently.
Understanding of data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
Working knowledge of stored procedures, PL/SQL blocks, and exception handling.
Experience with data ingestion, transformation, and loading (ETL) best practices.
