Field & Facility Tech – Textile Restoration

At Recovery Cleaners, we specialize in restoring clothing and textiles affected by fire and flood. For over 30 years, we've been committed to helping families through some of the hardest moments in their lives - with compassion, care, and unmatched expertise.

We're looking to expand our Field Crew - the frontline team members who meet with homeowners, inventory damaged textiles, and transport them to our warehouse for restoration.

And because every single day brings something new, you will also take part in cross - training across different roles. This keeps the work varied, builds your skills, and makes our team much stronger and more flexible

Compensation:

$17 - $18 an hour

Responsibilities:

What You'll Do:

  • Drive to residential properties affected by fire or water damage.
  • Work onsite to inventory, document, and carefully pack textiles using an iPad.
  • Transport items back to our facility in company vehicles.
  • Handle returns and deliveries once restoration is complete.
  • Serve as a calm, kind, and professional presence for families dealing with disaster.
  • Travel across Michigan and occasionally to Ohio as needed.
  • Support emergency response efforts, which can include after-hours or weekend shifts.

Qualifications:

What We're Looking For:

  • A clean driving record (required).
  • Willingness to undergo a background check.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially when it comes to handling personal items.
  • Compassionate and respectful communication skills—you'll be working with people who have just experienced a major loss.
  • Comfort with technology (iPads used for inventory and documentation).
  • Ability to lift and carry bags of clothing and household textiles
  • A flexible schedule and reliable transportation to and from our warehouse.
  • Ability to be on a rotating on - call schedule for emergency jobs that come in after hours and weekends.
