Videographer/Editor/Social Media Internship

Are you a creative storyteller with a passion for visual content, editing, and social media? the Colossal Museum are seeking a talented and driven Videographer/Editor/Social Media Intern to support dynamic content creation and digital media engagement for our educational, artistic, and community-driven brands.

This internship is ideal for students, aspiring creatives, or recent graduates looking to build a portfolio, gain hands-on experience, and work on real-world projects that celebrate innovation, culture, and creativity.

This is ainternship with potential for school credit, recommendation letters, portfolio development, and priority consideration for future paid roles or freelance opportunities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Videography & Editing

  • Capture footage at live events, workshops, and behind-the-scenes moments at Colossal Museum and its creative spaces.
  • Edit short-form and long-form video content for use across Instagram Reels, YouTube, TikTok, and promotional campaigns.
  • Transform existing video footage into cinematic montages, educational highlights, and digital promos.

Social Media Content & Coordination

  • Plan and schedule engaging posts across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, etc.).
  • Repurpose video edits into scroll-stopping visuals that align with brand voice and themes.
  • Research and integrate trending audio, hashtags, and formats relevant to our audience.

Creative Direction & Strategy

  • Collaborate with the Colossal team on upcoming campaigns, digital launches, and museum features.
  • Participate in brainstorms around podcast clips, museum features, giant sculpture promos, Kidzeum sneak peeks, and event content.
  • Support content strategy for the Colossal Knowledge Hub, Podcast Bar, and other community assets under the Colossal brand.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Photography, Animation, or Content Repurposing, Film Production, Digital Media, Communications, Multimedia Arts, Journalism or Media Studies, Social Media Marketing, Visual Arts or related creative/technical fields.
  • A creative and self-motivated individual with strong visual storytelling skills.
  • Familiarity with editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, Canva, etc.).
  • Understanding of social media trends, best practices, and content engagement techniques.
  • Comfortable working independently and meeting creative deadlines.
