The Enterprise Architect is a strategic leader specializing in hardware and software pattern management and governance. This position plays a critical role within a highly regulated environment, focusing on reducing complexity, accelerating delivery, minimizing technical debt, streamlining processes, and optimizing technology spend across the enterprise.
What you will be responsible for Architecture Strategy & Alignment- Develop and maintain the organization's infrastructure and security portfolio architectures and strategies, ensuring coverage of all relevant technology platforms and services.
- Maintain close cooperation with infrastructure engineering and operations teams to guarantee architectural designs are aligned, understood, and agreed upon.
- Clearly delineate the responsibilities between architecture and engineering domains.
- Collaborate with subsidiaries and affiliates to ensure strategies and architectures support the entire enterprise.
- Define, curate, and govern a comprehensive library of reusable architectural patterns and standards that form the foundation for scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-effective technology solutions.
- Research, design, document, and publish standardized hardware and software patterns, such as microservices communication, event-driven architecture, data ingestion, cloud migration, secure API gateways, container orchestration, serverless functions, and hardware configurations for on-premise, co-location, and cloud environments.
- Analyze existing systems to identify opportunities for pattern extraction and reuse.
- Develop and maintain a pattern maturity model (e.g., emerging, validated, deprecated) and a strategic roadmap for the pattern portfolio.
- Ensure strict adherence to architecture governance principles and compliance with relevant industry regulations.
- Promote and enforce architectural standards and best practices for security, reliability, performance, cost optimization, and observability across all business units and technology teams.
- Develop automation and analytical tools to assess and optimize technology spend, enabling actionable cost-reduction recommendations such as software renewals, hardware maintenance, evaluation of alternative technologies or services, and cloud spend optimization.
- Create analyses that map spend and cost to delivered business value, and regularly benchmark spend against industry peers to identify improvement opportunities.
- Monitor and evaluate emerging infrastructure and security technologies, tools, and service offerings to ensure continuous innovation, efficiency, and alignment with enterprise objectives.
This role requires a highly influential leader, adept at operating across organizational levels, with the ability to ensure technology solutions remain aligned with long-term business and IT strategies, and to foster a culture of architectural excellence and fiscal responsibility.
Salary Range:
$225,000 - $337,500 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
