The Senior Project Engineering Manager will oversee the engineering execution of major projects within the Power Generation division in the Americas region. This position is responsible for leading cross-functional engineering teams, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, and managing the technical scope of complex contracts. The role is vital in driving project profitability, ensuring on-time delivery, and maintaining technical excellence across global projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical leader and focal point for project engineering execution from contract signature through completion.
  • Develop and manage project engineering scope, schedules, and deliverables in alignment with contractual and business requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to internal teams, project management, partners, and customers.
  • Review customer specifications, communicate requirements to design teams, and evaluate scope changes for cost and schedule impact.
  • Manage a cross-functional engineering team to identify and mitigate risks and leverage opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure equipment and systems meet all customer, contractual, and quality requirements.
  • Facilitate collaboration across global engineering teams, sourcing, logistics, and quality departments.
  • Drive adherence to quality procedures and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Capture and document lessons learned to support organizational learning and best practices.
  • Serve as a technical liaison with customers, EPCs, and subcontractors, ensuring compliance and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering or a related STEM discipline.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in project or engineering management within the power generation or energy industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and large-scale technical projects.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in technical project planning, documentation, and execution.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical codes, standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with turbomachinery, generators, controls, and power plant auxiliary systems.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills across multiple engineering and business functions.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to make sound technical judgments.
  • High attention to detail, organizational ability, and commitment to continuous improvement.

Additional Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience in the energy, power generation, or EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) sectors.
  • Prior experience managing technical risk and driving project profitability.
  • Expertise in one or more engineering disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, or Process.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with customers and senior leadership.
