About Better World Advertising (BWA)

Better World Advertising (BWA) is a pioneering social marketing agency dedicated to creating campaigns that drive social change. For over two decades, BWA has partnered with government, nonprofit, and corporate clients to design and deliver impactful advertising and outreach initiatives — often addressing issues such as HIV prevention, LGBTQ+ health and equality, substance use, mental wellness, and community engagement.

Our campaigns are bold, inclusive, and grounded in research, designed to make a measurable difference in people's lives. We believe advertising can change the world — and we're looking for someone who believes the same.

Position Summary

The Project Manager will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of multiple concurrent advertising and marketing campaigns. This role requires exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with an understanding of the unique sensitivities and opportunities inherent in social impact and LGBTQ+ advocacy work.

You will serve as the connective thread between creative, account management, media, and production teams — ensuring campaigns are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with client goals.

  • Maintain accurate status reports and documentation for internal and client review.
  • Oversee vendor relationships (photographers, video producers, media buyers, etc.) to ensure quality and timeliness.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as day-to-day contact for assigned clients, building trust through clear communication and responsiveness.
  • Support Account Directors in managing client expectations, budgets, and approvals.
  • Translate client objectives into actionable creative briefs and workback schedules.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and campaign reviews.

Quality & Impact

  • Ensure deliverables align with client goals, brand guidelines, and agency standards.
  • Support creative and strategy teams in incorporating community feedback and cultural insights.
  • Monitor campaign performance metrics and collaborate on post-campaign analysis.
  • Champion inclusive and respectful representation of LGBTQ+ and diverse communities in all campaign materials.

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

  • 3–5 years of project management experience in advertising, marketing, or communications (agency experience strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of creative development and media production workflows.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Asana, Wrike, , or similar).
  • Commitment to social impact, diversity, and inclusion.

Preferred:

  • Experience working on public health, government, or nonprofit campaigns.
  • Familiarity with social impact or behavior-change marketing.
  • Cultural competence and comfort working on projects centered around LGBTQ+ health, rights, and advocacy.
  • PMP or related certification (a plus, not required).
