The Production Coordinator will provide production support by managing operational workflows that drive efficiencies and enable the execution of all in-house created events. The incumbent will manage the production operations component of assigned projects to ensure that they are completed from conception to execution within budget while leading the charge on innovative production solutions, and contract and budget management. The Production Coordinator will report to the SVP of Creative Services and day to day will work under the direction of the Manager, Production Operations, with other duties as assigned.

  • RESPONSIBILITIES: Participate in production development for contract and budgetary deliverables.
  • Monitors production operations in accordance with Events DC policies and procedures; maintains the integrity of the contract files, making sure they contain all the necessary information.
  • Work closely with creative leads to understand vision/needs, develop concepts, and assist in implementation of vision to production, both for virtual and in-person events.
  • Coordinate regularly with manager to ensure that production operations are aligning with divisional priorities, including aligning operations with internal partnerships across the company (specifically, Studio 801.)
  • Create artful storytelling through editing of video and audio, and a solid understanding of showing vs. telling for virtual programs.
  • Create concept script ideas with manager and partner with both internal and external creatives throughout the production process.
  • Assist in filming of original content, as well as edit existing content to fit our various digital platforms.
  • Work cross-functionally to build out messaging for content filmed/produced.
  • Create a filming/editing calendar.
  • Assist in ensuring the correct formatting and presentation for finalized videos according to different deliverable specifications.
  • Meet all project deadlines through efficient team meetings and communication.
  • Thoroughly understand production budgets and executional strategies to track budgets that lead to creative excellence and fiscal project health. Manage daily tasks tied to production budgets to include troubleshooting issues that could slow down the process.

  • QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university or combination of equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in television/film/web production and/or editing of video assets.
  • Prior experience working with high profile talent and large-scale production of live events, educational programs, or museum exhibition engagement highly preferred.
  • Prior experience writing and advanced skills in Adobe/other video editing and other applicable production and editing applications a plus.
