Duties

  • Greet guests warmly and assist them with menu selections, providing detailed descriptions of dishes when needed.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly and accurately, ensuring each guest's order meets quality standards.
  • Assist in food preparation tasks under supervision, including plating and portioning to support kitchen operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by cleaning tables, bussing dishes, and sanitizing work areas regularly.
  • Support the dietary department by handling food safely, adhering to food safety protocols, and managing proper food handling procedures.
  • Help with meal assembly and presentation to ensure attractive and appetizing servings.
  • Manage time effectively to serve multiple tables efficiently during busy periods.
  • Assist with inventory control by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock needs.
  • Uphold excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries promptly and courteously.
  • Follow all health regulations related to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff alike.

Skills

  • Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals or the food industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of food production, preparation, serving techniques, and sanitation practices.
  • Experience working in dietary departments or with dietary aides enhances your ability to meet specific nutritional needs.
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently during peak hours.
  • Proficiency in food handling, safety procedures, cleaning routines, bussing tables, and general kitchen operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and guests to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Familiarity with culinary techniques such as cooking, plating, and meal presentation is a plus.
  • Understanding of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices to maintain compliance with health regulations.
  • Experience in food service roles within the food industry or healthcare settings will support your success in this position.
