Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate licensed Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs. This role requires a strong commitment to fostering the academic, social, and emotional growth of each student while collaborating with parents, staff, and other professionals to ensure the best educational outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
  • Utilize effective behavior management strategies to maintain a positive classroom environment.
  • Design engaging curriculum that accommodates various learning styles and abilities.
  • Provide instruction in both academic subjects and life skills to enhance students' overall development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting teaching methods as necessary.
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other educators to support student learning and development.
  • Mentor and guide teaching assistants or volunteers in the classroom setting.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavior for reporting purposes.
  • Create a safe, nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes respect and understanding among students.

Experience

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • Proven experience in early childhood education or special education settings is preferred.
  • Strong skills in classroom management and behavior management techniques.
  • Familiarity with curriculum development tailored for diverse learners.
  • Experience working with children in various capacities, including childcare or mentoring roles.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of library services and resources that can enhance learning opportunities for students.
