JOB DUTIES

Functions as supervisor to plan, coordinate, and supervise work of professional social workers and support staff, as indicated.

Makes work assignments; reviews work for professional quality, completeness, and adherence to established policies. Provides guidance to subordinates in resolution of work problems.

Establishes procedures for, and supervises preparation of case histories, social work consults, discharge planning evaluations, and other various reports and records. Ensures maintenance of high professional standards.

Conducts and participates in staff conferences and meetings.

Functions as staff supervisor to serve as advisor or consultant to director/manager of project in development of goals and objectives of overall social work program for implementation by social work personnel assigned to health teams. Develops and conducts in-service training programs for social work personnel.

Establishes and maintains effective relationships with community social service organizations. Advises health team social work personnel with respect to resolution of unusual or complex work problems.

Develops recruitment standards, interviews socal work applicants, and recommends employment of best qualified applicants.

Conducts and participates in social worker performance evaluations and provides feedback on performance periodically.

Acts in the absence of manager or director, as indicated.

Performs other duties as assigned.
