Day Porter/Janitor

JOB DESCRIPTION: Hours 10am-130pm or 10pm-3pm
To keep a keen eye for detail is needed to be a competent day porter. employee has to be organized and able to follow a routine that provides regular inspection and cleaning of assigned areas. Should be friendly and accommodating to ensure work is maintained for teachers/students. Skills in operating hand and electrical cleaning tools like dusters, brooms, mops, and vacuum cleaners are required.PRINCIPLE DUTIES:Conduct daily inspections of building exterior and interior. Perform general janitorial duties. Perform general cleaning including sweeping and mopping floors and stairs, cleaning entry doors and glass, mid-day cleaning of washrooms, setting up and breakdown and clean up of cafeteria area, and other miscellaneous cleaning as needed. Organize storage areas, and remove recyclable materials. In addition, work would include assisting with custodial work, parts and material storage and inventory assignments. REQUIREMENTS :High School diploma or equivalent education janitorial or laborer experience in a facility setting is preferred. Must be able to push and pull a minimum of 30 poundsMust be able to lift a minimum of 10 to 50 pounds. Must be a team player and committed to working in a quality environment. Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills WORK ENVIRONMENT:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. Most of the work requires standing and/or walking. Flexibility is important to effectively use the cleaning equipment. Lifting of cleaning supplies and buckets is part of daily tasks, min. 10 to 50 lbs.OTHER: MUST BE ABLE TO PASS BACKGROUND CHECK.
