Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fine dining, banquet services, and food production, with strong leadership and team management skills. As a key member of our kitchen management, you will oversee daily operations, ensure food safety standards, and assist in menu planning and inventory control. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic hospitality environment dedicated to excellence in food service.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations, including shift management and staff supervision
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure high-quality standards are maintained
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing leadership and guidance to foster a collaborative team environment
- Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and minimizing waste
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards in the kitchen
- Participate in menu planning, catering events, and special banquet functions
- Coordinate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions
- Oversee food handling procedures and ensure proper food safety practices are followed
- Assist in training new staff members and monitoring their performance
- Support restaurant management in daily operations and customer service excellence
Skills
- Proven experience in fine dining, banquet service, or catering environments
- Strong supervisory and team management skills with demonstrated leadership ability
- Extensive culinary experience including food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management
- Knowledge of inventory management, inventory control, and food cost optimization
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations within the food industry
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Experience in menu planning and food service management
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills for effective team coordination and customer interaction
- Background in hospitality or restaurant management is highly desirable
