We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Safety Manager to manage all safety initiatives with three fast-growing companies housed under one roof.

We operate under a customer-focused, employee-driven business model that emphasizes loyalty, consistency and expertise.  Our culture is fast-paced, collaborative, and success-oriented.  We are looking for an individual who shares our passion for safety.  The Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing the safety protocols and ensuring the well-being of all employees working on construction projects.  This role combines leadership, risk management, and regulatory compliance within the construction industries.

Responsibilities:

Safety Program Development & Implementation:

  • Design and implement safety policies and procedures tailored to construction.
  • Develop and manage the safety training programs for all employees, including site workers, supervisors, and contractors.
  • Regularly update safety programs in response to changes in safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including procedures for all accidents, falls, and other construction-related hazards.

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, NFPA(National Fire Protection Association) codes, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of work sites to ensure safety standards are being met.
  • Oversee the preparation of safety documentation, including reports for regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain records of incidents, injuries, and corrective actions taken.

Incident Investigation & Reporting:

  • Investigate accidents accidents, injuries, and near-misses to determine the root causes.
  • Implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Ensure timely reporting of incidents and injuries in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Track and analyze rends in safety performance to implement proactive measures.

Risk Management:

  • Manage fleet preventative maintenance program and complete oversight of fleet operations.
  • Identify potential safety hazards on job sites and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Work with project managers to conduct risk assessments and develop site-specific safety plans.
  • Oversee the procurement and proper use of safety equipment, including personal protective equipment. (PPE)

Training & Awareness:

  • Conduct safety education for employees and supervisors.
  • Maintain records of employee safety certifications and education completion.
  • Promote a culture of safety across all levels of the organization.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and support to site supervisors and team members regarding safety best practices.

Leadership & Team Collaboration:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related matters on construction sites.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to integrate safety into all aspects of the construction process.
  • Develop strategies to maintain high levels of employee engagement in safety initiatives.

Budget Management: 

  • Oversee safety budgets and ensure the proper allocation of resources to meet safety needs.
  • Manage the procurement of safety equipment and training materials.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay up to date with trends and innovations in construction safety and HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical industry standards
  • Regularly review and improve safety systems based on employee feedback, incident reporting.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety, OSHA 510 and OSHA 500 are highly preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in safety management within commercial construction, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in Electrical, HVAC and Plumbing construction.
  • Experience with HVAC safety standards including refrigerants, fall protection, proper use of PPE, hoisting and rigging.
  • Experience with plumbing safety standards including excavation and trench safety and training, confined spaces, open flames, welding, air quality testing.
  • Experience with electrical safety standards including lock out/tagout, arc flash protection, voltage detection, implementing and managing electrical safety programs.
  • Proven experience in managing safety programs, conducting safety audits, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Strong background in electrical safety systems and safety standards (OSHA, NFPA, 70E) and hazard identification.
  • Ensure the organization complies with all relevant electrical, HVAC, and plumbing safety regulations such as those from OSHA and NFPA.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, NFPA standards, and other relevant safety standards.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to influence and motivate teams to prioritize safety.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • An analytical mindset to investigate incidents and identify trends in safety performance.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate training programs.
  • Proficiency with safety management software and tools.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to conduct site visits and walk through construction areas.
  • Ability to lift and carry safety equipment and materials as required.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and environments.

SALARY RANGE: $80,000-95,000/YEAR
