Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the optometric practice in delivering high-quality eye care services. This position involves working closely with patients, assisting with various clinical tasks, and ensuring a smooth flow of operations within the office.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient intake, including gathering medical history and performing initial assessments.
  • Measure and record vital signs as needed.
  • Assist in the examination process by preparing patients for the optometrist.
  • Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Manage medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Operate and maintain optical equipment, providing support during examinations.
  • Collaborate with the optometrist to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Assist with front desk duties, including scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries.
  • Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and relevant coding/billing practices.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems, particularly Revolution EHR, is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of optical procedures and ophthalmology is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of patient care principles, including pediatrics if applicable.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential for managing medical records and patient information.

Base Pay: From $16.00 per hour
