Overview

Vidar Dynamics builds autonomous aerial systems that extend human reach; from rapid-response FPV to long-range VTOL for defense and emergency services.

Role Description

We're looking for a hands-on AI & simulation co-founder to own autonomy software, sim-to-real pipelines, and future swarm logic. starting with open-source models and scaling post-funding.

You'll get drones flying autonomously using pre-trained policies, then train custom models with real flight data.

What You'll Do

  • Deploy open-source autonomy
  • Set up simulation environments
  • Run sim-to-real transfer
  • Fine-tune AI models (vision, pathing, VTOL transitions)
  • Build cloud config dashboard (pre-flight mission upload, model updates)
  • Prep for swarm logic (decentralized MARL, mesh comms)
  • Support demos (auto-flight scripts, HUD overlays on goggles)
  • Create own own Osoftware for drones/ hardware (goggles)

Your Background

  • 3–5+ years in ai autonomy
  • Proficient in AirSim/Gazebo, PX4/MAVSDK, PyTorch/TensorRT
  • Experience deploying YOLO/RL on edge devices
  • Built sim-to-real pipelines
  • Comfortable starting with open-source models and iterating

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75, $150,000.00 per year
