Responsibilities
Kforce has a client that is seeking a remote Senior Big Data Engineer to join their team. Summary: The team supports a portal and product landing page, which supports all marketing functions of the website. Currently, they are operating under one monolithic application and want to decouple into loosely coupled microservices. The individual they are looking for will be focused on the data side of the project and make sure the data is clean, structured, and stored in the right places. Skillfully, they are looking for someone strong in Apache Spark, Scala, and Google BigQuery along with PostgreSQL and Apache Parquet. Ideally, the candidate should also be proficient in writing performant SQL queries and have working knowledge of CPU localization. Finally, they are looking for a solid problem solver who has a wide breadth of knowledge across data, cloud and SQL.

Requirements

  • 6-10+ years of data engineering experience
  • GCP experience (big query)
  • Expertise in SQL
  • Experience in Big Data (spark, etc.)
  • Strong problem solver

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
