As the Website Operations Lead, you will provide operational and development support for
, supporting the technical management and performance of our public-facing website. You'll work cross-functionally with Marketing, Technology, and other business units to keep the site running smoothly, performing optimally, and reflecting RXO's brand at its best.
You're proactive, analytical, and love bringing structure and efficiency to digital environments. You thrive in cross-functional teams and can translate technical challenges into business solutions.
Here's What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins using PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Deploy and manage sites on the Pantheon platform, leveraging its tools for performance, reliability, and security.
- Use Git for version control and manage code across Pantheon's Dev, Test, and Live environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve website issues related to speed, functionality, and security.
- Collaborate with designers, content creators, and other developers to deliver responsive, high-quality web solutions.
- Integrate third-party APIs and ensure all code follows modern best practices.
- Conduct regular performance testing, caching, and SEO optimization to keep the site fast and discoverable.
- Stay current on the latest WordPress, PHP, and WebOps trends.
- Work across multiple development teams and resources, including on and off-shore vendors.
At a Minimum, You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience in web development or website management.
- 3+ years of hands-on WordPress development experience, including custom theme and plugin development, site architecture, and performance optimization.
It'd Be Great If You Also Have
- Hands-on experience with Pantheon or similar hosting/WebOps environments (e.g., WP Engine, Kinsta, Cloudways).
- Solid front-end skills in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Experience with Git version control and collaborative development.
- Strong understanding of performance optimization (caching, database tuning, SEO).
- Proven ability to build responsive, mobile-friendly websites.
- Experience with RESTful API integrations
- Familiarity with tools like New Relic for performance monitoring.
- Experience mentoring or guiding less experienced developers.
- A knack for problem-solving
- Excellent communication skills — you can work seamlessly with both technical and non-technical teams.
