Our challenge

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Core Java Developer to join our Backend team. The candidate will design, implement, and optimize core components of our trading platform, working on complex, latency-sensitive systems. Candidate will collaborate with front-end teams, data engineers, quant researchers, and platform engineers to deliver robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java backend services for trading systems, order management, risk, and market data processing.
• Build low-latency, high-throughput components with a strong emphasis on reliability, fault tolerance, and deterministic behavior.
• Architect and implement streaming data pipelines, event-driven architecture, and microservices as appropriate.
• Optimize JVM performance, memory management, GC tuning, asynchronous programming (e.g., Completable Future, reactive paradigms), and profiling.
• Implement core business logic for order routing, execution, market data handling, risk checks, position management, and settlement workflows.
• Collaborate with Quant/Trading teams to translate strategies and requirements into scalable infrastructure.
• Create and maintain comprehensive unit, integration, and performance tests; participate in code reviews and design reviews.
• Contribute to technical strategy, standards, and best practices for backend development, CI/CD, observability, and security.
• Provide on-call support/rotation for production systems and participate in incident investigation and post-mortems.
• Mentor and coach mid-senior developers, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.

Requirements:

• Core Java development with a focus on server-side components, concurrency, and performance.
• Design and implement APIs and messaging interfaces for internal and external clients.
• Build robust data models for trades, orders, market data, risk factors, and positions.
• Implement reliable persistence strategies (RDBMS, time-series databases, or other suitable storage).
• Ensure compliance with risk controls, auditability, and regulatory requirements relevant to trading.
• Develop and maintain deployment pipelines, monitoring, logging, and tracing to ensure observability.
• Stay current with industry trends (CAP theorem, microservices, Java ecosystem) and continuously improve the platform.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in backend Java development; 4+ years in performance-sensitive trading or financial systems is highly desirable.
• Expert-level proficiency in Java (8, 11, or newer) and solid understanding of the Java memory model, JVM tuning, and garbage collection.
• Strong experience with concurrency, multithreading, synchronization, lock-free data structures, and low-latency design patterns.
• Thorough experience with networking fundamentals (TCP/UDP, NIO, sockets) and asynchronous programming.
• Proficiency with data serialization formats (JSON, Protobuf, Avro) and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar).
• Experience with database design and operations (SQL and transactional/analytical workloads); familiarity with time-series databases is a plus.
• Prior exposure to trading activities such as order management, market data feeds, risk checks, execution logic, or settlement workflows.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture, REST/gRPC services, and event-driven design.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills; ability to diagnose performance bottlenecks.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring abilities.
• Prior on-call experience and incident management aptitude.
