Athena7 is one of four battalions fighting threat actors on the front lines of the global cyber war. As part of The World's First Civilian Cybersecurity Force, Athena7 specializes in resistance hardening, IT security assessments, strategy and planning to ensure an organization's defenses are prepared to effectively resist and rapidly recover from a cyberattack.
About This Position
At Fenix24, we believe that cloud platforms should be secure by design, not secured as an afterthought. As a Senior Cloud Security Engineer, you'll help organizations understand, assess, and strengthen their cloud environments. You'll serve as both a trusted advisor and a technical expert, guiding clients through the complexities of Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS and GCP security while helping them implement practical solutions that reduce risk and improve resilience.
In this role, you'll work closely with clients to evaluate their current cloud posture, identify gaps, and design strategies that align with business goals and compliance requirements. Whether you're helping a government agency harden its Microsoft 365 tenant or advising a healthcare provider on secure Azure deployment, your work will directly impact their ability to operate safely in today's threat landscape.
What You'll Do
- Lead cloud security assessments to identify risks and recommend remediation strategies across Microsoft 365, Azure, and AWS environments.
- Provide consultative guidance on cloud governance, identity management, and compliance frameworks.
- Support hands-on implementation of secure configurations, migrations, and integrations for Microsoft 365 workloads.
- Assist clients in hardening their cloud environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, and Defender.
- Collaborate with project managers to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver successful outcomes.
- Help clients develop and maintain governance documentation and automation scripts (PowerShell) to support secure operations.
- Advise on integration of identity platforms such as Entra ID, Azure AD Connect, and SSO.
- Provide mentorship and technical support to internal engineers and client teams.
- Deliver training sessions on cloud security best practices and Microsoft 365 capabilities.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across hybrid environments and support production uptime.
Why This Role Matters
Cloud platforms are central to modern business, but they're also prime targets for cyber threats. Organizations need more than just technical support; they need strategic partners who understand how to secure their digital operations while enabling growth and innovation.
As a Senior Cloud Security Engineer, your work will help organizations build confidence in their cloud environments. You'll help them avoid misconfigurations, reduce exposure to threats, and implement controls that protect sensitive data and ensure business continuity. This role is about more than technology, it's about trust, leadership, and impact.
If you're passionate about cloud security and want to help organizations thrive in a high-risk digital world, this is your opportunity.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- You bring 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud engineering, or consulting.
- You've led Microsoft 365 migrations and have deep experience with Exchange (on-prem and hybrid), SharePoint, Teams, and Intune.
- You've supported IaaS and PaaS migrations to Azure, AWS and/or GCP and understand how to harden cloud environments.
- You're comfortable with PowerShell scripting and automation for governance and configuration.
- You've implemented identity and access solutions including Entra ID, Azure AD Connect, and SSO.
- Have experience with setting and hardening multifactor solutions such as Okta, DUO and MS Authenticator.
- You've worked with mail security platforms like Mimecast or Proofpoint and understand how to secure messaging environments.
- You've configured and supported Windows Server, Active Directory, and ADFS.
- You're a strong communicator and collaborator, able to work across technical and non-technical teams.
- You're passionate about cybersecurity and cloud resilience, and you stay current with best practices and emerging threats.
- You're flexible, organized, and capable of working independently in a remote-first environment.
