We are looking for a thorough Maintenance Technician to undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of our assets. A Maintenance Technician is a thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines. The goal is to maintain the units, buildings and other WH Property Group operating areas in the best condition possible.

What You'll Do:

  • Complete resident work orders
  • Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
  • Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels, etc.)
  • Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration, and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
  • Assist in the maintenance of heating and plumbing systems to ensure proper functionality
  • Troubleshoot alarm systems (fire, protection) and communicate the need for scheduling repairs when needed
  • Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows, etc.)
  • Conduct general upkeep procedures and other tasks as assigned (painting, light carpentry, etc.)
  • Assist the Repairs & Maintenance team's budget preparation by communicating the needs of the department to the Head of Operations

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of work experience
  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
  • Working knowledge of tools and common appliances
  • EPA Certified in HVAC
  • Everyday use of Entrata, Yardi, Breezeway or any other mobile app to complete service requests
  • Maintain high levels of professionalism while interacting with community members, team members, vendors, and property partners
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Participate in training and ongoing educational requirements
  • Good physical condition and strength with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and overtime
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Neat, clean, professional at all times whenever present at the community
  • Positive attitude at all times with the ability to smile under all circumstances
  • This position requires a smartphone, and a car with a valid Driver's License and proof of car insurance
