Business Analyst / Technical Product Owner (Airlines Domain – Pricing, Booking & Crew Operations)

Location:
Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)

Duration of the contract:
Long-Term Contract

Pay Rate:
$50/hr on 1099 Basis

Skills Required:

  • Business analysis and product ownership within the airline industry
  • Expertise in airline pricing, fare management, booking systems, flight scheduling, and crew operations
  • Hands-on experience with PSS, RMS, GDS, and Crew Management Systems
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Exceptional documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field

Job Description

We are seeking a
Business Analyst / Technical Product Owner
with a strong background in the
airline industry
, specifically in
pricing, booking, and crew operations
. This role is ideal for someone who understands the intricacies of airline commercial and operational systems and can translate complex business needs into actionable technical requirements and roadmaps.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business and IT teams to gather, analyze, and document functional requirements for core airline systems including pricing, booking, and crew management.
  • Act as Product Owner for airline operations initiatives — defining business epics, managing product backlogs, and driving feature delivery.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including revenue management, network planning, and operations control to enhance system functionality and user experience.
  • Support configuration and integration efforts across fare rules, booking workflows, and operational platforms like PSS, GDS, and crew rostering systems.
  • Perform gap analysis and recommend improvements between current systems and desired business outcomes.
  • Partner with engineering and QA teams to ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, and meet business objectives.
  • Lead UAT testing, manage defect resolution, and validate system readiness for production deployment.
  • Create user stories, process flows, and detailed functional specifications using Agile best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Product Owner in airline operations.
  • Deep domain knowledge in airline pricing, booking logic, flight ops, and crew scheduling.
  • Proven experience with Passenger Service Systems (PSS), Revenue Management Systems (RMS), or Crew Management tools.
  • Familiarity with flight disruption management, roster optimization, or crew pairing algorithms is a plus.
  • Exposure to cloud-based airline platforms or modernization projects.
  • Experience with API integrations or airline data services is desirable.
