Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Teacher to oversee and implement high-quality educational programs within our early childhood setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong classroom management skills, expertise in curriculum development, and experience working with children with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, and speech or behavioral challenges. This role involves leading lesson planning, supporting individualized education plans (IEPs), and fostering a nurturing environment that promotes childhood development and learning. The Lead Teacher will collaborate closely with staff, parents, and specialists to ensure each child's educational and emotional needs are met effectively.
Duties
- Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and individual student needs.
- Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management strategies to create a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, and other professionals to support children with speech therapy needs, behavioral therapy, or special education requirements.
- Monitor student progress through assessments and observation; adjust instruction accordingly.
- Maintain detailed documentation of each child's progress, IEP goals, and behavioral data in compliance with educational regulations.
- Foster inclusive classroom environments that support children with disabilities or developmental delays through tailored activities and accommodations.
- Lead classroom activities for infants and toddlers, or students while ensuring safety and engagement.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to assistant teachers or interns; promote professional development within the team.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavior management strategies, and curriculum updates.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood education settings.
- Strong classroom management skills combined with expertise in behavior management techniques.
- Ability to work effectively with children who have diverse needs including disabilities related to behavioral health or developmental delays.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, parents, therapists, and specialists.
- Background in childhood development theories and practices.

Pay: $ $28.44 per hour
