The Savannah Country Day School is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Hornet Shop Manager. Under the general supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Hornet Shop Manager is responsible for supervising all aspects of the daily operations of our student focused campus store. This 12-month, full-time position manages daily retail operations, purchasing, and merchandising, while ensuring the store supports the school's mission and community culture.

Typical duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following

· Supervising all daily sales operations, operating a point-of-sale system, balancing and preparing deposits and sales reports.

· Providing excellent customer service and a welcoming experience to faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni, and other community members.

· Supporting special school events, such as The Country Fair and athletic events, with merchandise sales and store operations.

· Coordinating daily work schedules for Hornet Shop staff to ensure adequate staffing levels during peak times.

· Maintaining strong relationships with vendors, selecting and purchasing merchandise inventory, including spirit wear, school supplies, and gift items.

· Receiving, stocking, and displaying merchandise.

· Conducting inventory of merchandise and maintaining inventory records.

· Coordinating with the Business Office on budget management, reconciliation, and reporting.

· Completing routine administrative tasks, such as answering phones, data entry, and maintaining records.

· Typical working hours are 8:00am-4pm Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime or evening/weekend hours may be required to support special campus events.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in business, retail management, or marketing strongly preferred.

· Minimum of three (3) years retail management experience, preferably in a school or campus environment.

· Valid driver's license required.

· Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS), inventory management, and financial recordkeeping systems.

· Creative eye for merchandising and product selection.

· Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively within a school community.

· Must have superior customer service skills, a positive attitude, and the flexibility to shift priorities as needed.

· Must possess the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Physical Demands

Work is performed in a retail store environment and involves regular sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, crouching, climbing ladders, and occasionally lifting objects up to 50 pounds. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes.
