Job DescriptionAs a Unarmed Security Professional - Retail Site in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you'll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a bustling retail or mall location, you will conduct regular patrols and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to help maintain order within the retail or mall location.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
- Observe and report any suspicious activity or security-related incidents to Allied Universal management and/or client representatives as directed.
- Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying credentials, and providing directions or information to visitors as needed.
- Maintain a visible presence throughout the location to help to deter theft, vandalism, and other unwanted behaviors.
- Work collaboratively with Allied Universal team members and client personnel to uphold site-specific protocols and maintain a welcoming environment for all occupants.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be able to ride a bike.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
