Position Overview
The National Partnership for Women & Families is looking for a full-time research manager to support the organization's research capacity to further the National Partnership's policy goals of advancing an inclusive economy by centering the needs of women of color, forging a more responsive, equitable health care system, and improving care supports. This individual will conduct quantitative and qualitative research related to the National Partnership's core policy areas to better inform policymakers. Since the issues we work on are intersectional, the Research Manager will support research on economic justice and health justice. The Research Manager will be in charge of staying on top of analyses of federal data releases, updating fact sheets, and supporting the data analysis needs of the organization
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- At the direction of the Economic Justice team Vice President and/or the Senior Fellow for research, prepare advanced, complex, descriptive statistical analysis of public datasets and create data visuals
- Coordinate and support qualitative research, including interviews and focus groups
- Draft and fact check written products for publication, including reports, briefing papers, fact sheets, and blog posts, to communicate research findings and provide policy recommendations
- Monitor relevant news, research, and policy on topics such as paid leave, abortion access and ensure research reflects and responds to these developments when appropriate,
- Coordinate and support qualitative research, including interviews and focus groups
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills Required
- A Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience in a relevant field, for example, economics, sociology, public policy, or political science, is required;
- An excellent verbal and written communicator;
- Highly attentive to detail in analysis, written documents and when supporting meetings and events;
- Extremely well organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- Experience with multivariate statistical methods, survey research, and qualitative research and design and analysis.
- Curious about and familiar with research and finding out information and evaluating its quality;
- Demonstrated familiarity with a statistical analysis package (e.g. Stata, R) and experience with data coding, management, and querying;
- Experience accessing, managing, and analyzing a variety of different types of quantitative data (e.g. survey data, administrative data);
- A strong interest in and passion for the mission of the organization and economic and health justice issues;
- Comfortable working as part of a team and in a collaborative environment; and
- Experience using and integrating racial and gender justice concepts and intersectional frameworks and commitment to centering them in work projects and interactions (both internal and external) by addressing structural implications and disproportionate impacts of policies and institutions on historically oppressed groups.

Classification
The National Partnership recognizes a staff bargaining unit, National Partnership United, affiliated with the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union/IFPTE Local 70, a union for non-profit workers. This position is included in the NP United bargaining unit. Specific employment terms are subject to collective bargaining. The first 6 months of employment are a probationary period.
Salary And Benefits
The salary range for this role is
$71,617-$87,824
with the exact salary determined by years of relevant experience, in alignment with NPWF's compensation setting criteria.

Employment and Workplace Details
The Research Manager position is a full-time DC-based position with a hybrid schedule that requires a minimum of four days of in-office work each month, with additional in-office and in-person days determined by your role and job responsibilities.

Up to date means a person has received all recommended COVID-19 vaccines, including any booster dose(s) when eligible.
