The Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) is hiring for a
General Accounting Manager
to work in our
Dallas based Corporate office.
(this is an onsite opportunity)

Compensation will be based on experience, resume, education and fit.

Job Description

Manages day-to-day operations of a specific area of responsibility. Supervises equally or lower graded associates performing various tasks to include posting entries to the general ledger and processing transactions through other financial software, i.e., Walker. Prepares presentations for the Exchange executives and outside agencies.

Job Qualifications

Five (5) years of accounting experience and college level education, that includes a minimum of 24 semester hours in accounting or auditing, or a certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through written examination, plus the completion of the Financial Management Training Program (FMT).

Or

Bachelors degree in accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting and three (3) years of experience.

Major Duties

  • Manages areas of responsibility.
  • Reviews account reconciliations performed by associates at the required intervals.
  • Develops projections and forecasts using historical data and current trends. Analyzes financial statements and provides feedback.
  • Answers inquiries from internal and external customers.
  • Provides leadership, mentoring, and coaching to associates supervised. Supervises accounting staff.
