Interior Designer - Luxury Remodeling

REPORTS TO: Design Director
SALARY: Based on experience
GENERAL SUMMARY: Concurrently design multiple luxury remodeling projects. Assist in securing quotes for select items while working with the Estimator and one or more Consultants. Gather vendor quotes, perform applicable take-offs, and adjust design details according to client direction and investment constraints during the pre-construction process.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design & Project Scope Development
- Identify and define design styling, scope of work, and project details.
- Ensure a complete understanding of clients' vision to gauge client investment tolerance and expectations, selecting appropriate products and vendors for the project.
- Document scope of work, create necessary plans, renderings, specifications, and selection schedules to communicate the design concepts accurately and completely.
- Perform detailed take-offs for selections to ensure budgets are thorough, accurate, and all-inclusive.
- Request and review relevant quotes and specs of selected project materials for accuracy.
Communicate vendor lead times for specialty products.
Project Design Schedule Management
- Maintain the schedule for design meetings, selections, and quotes to ensure timely completion.
- Attend and assist in the communication of the design to trade partners and other CROSS personnel during trade partner meetings.
Maintain detailed client notes and project documentation for seamless project handoff to Production.
Support During Construction Phase
- Attend project handoff meetings and assist Project Managers with clarifying design details in sold projects.
- Attend project meetings when invited to ensure design details are accurately implemented during construction.
Assist in solving issues that arise, ensuring selected products and design details are incorporated as planned.
Networking & Vendor Relations
- Build relationships and communicate effectively with vendors and clients.
- Identify new vendors for selection materials and assist in the vetting process.
- Stay updated on current costs and trends for building and design materials.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- The Remodeling Interior Designer will require the following responsibilities and experience:
- Highly organized and able to coordinate projects with interior design staff
- Strong communication skills; both verbal and written
- Self-motivated with an attention to detail and ability to self-supervise/ self-regulate
- High level of proficiency primarily in REVIT, AutoCAD, Illustrator & Photoshop
- Revit: 2 years (Preferred)
- AutoCAD: 5 years (Preferred)
Chief Architect: 3 years (preferred)
Interior Planning and Design:
- Develop and execute design concepts for custom homes, including spatial planning and material selections.
- Understanding of current code applications and standards
A minimum of 3 years' experience in producing Interiors residential construction documents for luxury remodeling projects.
Project Assistance:
- Support the Production Team in various project phases, from initial design through to final execution.
Responsible for creating and assisting in the production of Interior construction documentation and detailing
Client Interaction:
Present design ideas and concepts to clients, ensuring their vision is accurately realized.
Coordination:
- Work with clients, vendors, and on-site construction teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
Ability to communicate and work well with staff and clients
Custom Home Selections:
- Curate and recommend design elements specific to custom home projects, including finishes, cabinetry, and more.
