Do you enjoy helping students be successful? Have a background in SAT/ACT/PSAT prep and/or teaching? We have been called "The Institute for Advanced Study of Tutoring Services" by The New Yorker. Our Washington, DC location is presently hiring creative, empathetic, and academically brilliant people who want to teach one-on-one.

We believe that your role as a tutor at our company is crucial in shaping the future of our students. Our tutors are a highly qualified group, many holding multiple or advanced degrees and boasting exceptional academic records and test scores. We are looking for candidates who are quick learners, enthusiastic, and able to motivate students. Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a problem-solving attitude are also key attributes we seek in successful candidates.

Please reply back to this ad with ALL of the following requirements: a resume, a formal cover letter referencing in detail your experience, a formal copy of your previous Official ACT/SAT/GRE/LSAT/GMAT scores (or you can request to take a full practice SAT exam in lieu of submitting results), and an official reference letter (or reference phone numbers) from your previous employment. If any of the above documents are not included, your application will not be accepted. All applicants must also live in the South Florida area and be able to tutor at our office in Washington, DC.

We're all professional writing coaches, folks - your cover letter better be good. If you have any special subject areas you can tutor, please mention this as well. While high school academics and SAT/ACT are some of our most significant subject areas, special consideration will also be given to individuals prepared for the LSAT, Biology, Chemistry, SSAT, ISEE, and college admission essays. We are only accepting applications for in-person tutors at this time.

Job Expectations, Responsibilities, & Requirements:

  • Must provide ACT, SAT, LSAT, GRE, GMAT scores OR take a practice SAT exam at the office
  • Teaching or teachability skills
  • Efficient and extremely organized
  • Exceptional customer service skills, over the phone/email and in person, with our customers and internal departments
  • Experience working with students and parents
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Strong sense of urgency and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Business casual attire and grooming are required at all times
  • Quick learner of our company's lesson plans and materials
  • Enthusiastic and motivating like a coach for students and parents
  • ACT/SAT knowledge - both verbal and math sections
  • Ability to create and effectively communicate the tutoring program outlook and expectations with students and parents
