The Opportunity

The organization is seeking a Senior Finance Leader to own FP&A, strategic finance, forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning as the company scales. This individual will work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in shaping financial strategy, capital planning, and operational decision-making.

This role is ideal for someone with experience building finance functions in high-growth insurance, insurtech, fintech, or technology-enabled businesses, and who is comfortable with both strategy and hands-on execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and lead the company's FP&A function, including financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
  • Partner with executive leadership on strategic finance, capital planning, scenario analysis, and performance management.
  • Develop and enhance financial processes, KPI dashboards, and monthly/quarterly reporting infrastructure.
  • Support capital markets preparation, investor materials, lender relationships, and future growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with Accounting to improve financial accuracy, close timelines, and overall financial operations.
  • Drive data-driven decision-making across Product, Underwriting, and Operations.
  • Lead or support M&A evaluation, diligence, and integration projects.

Ideal Background

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, Strategic Finance, Finance Leadership, Corporate Development, or similar roles.
  • Background in insurance, insurtech, fintech, MGA/MGU, specialty commercial, or other regulated financial services strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to build and scale finance functions in fast-growing environments.
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, KPI development, and strategic planning expertise.
  • Experience partnering directly with senior leadership and influencing key decisions.
  • Skilled in both strategic and hands-on operational finance.
  • Based in or able to commute to Chicago on a hybrid schedule.
