Universal Banker Job Description

Rio Bank is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Universal Banker to join our team in McAllen, Texas. Rio Bank is a South Texas bank that first opened its doors in 1985. Summary

As a Universal Banker you would be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, opening new accounts, and processing a variety of teller transactions. You would also play a key role in educating customers about Rio Bank's products and services and making recommendations that meet their needs. 

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. (hours vary)

Saturdays, 8:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. (on a rotation basis) 

What You'll Do

  • Provide a high level of customer service to our customers
  • Process a variety of retail and commercial transactions such as deposits, withdrawals and check cashing
  • Balance cash drawer daily
  • Assist in ordering, receiving, verifying, and distributing cash
  • Open and close accounts and perform account maintenance
  • Process check orders, debit cards, wire transfers, and stop payments.
  • Promote the bank's products and services
  • Answer customer inquiries in a helpful manner and refer customers to to other departments as needed
  • Process ATM, Debit and ACH disputes
  • Adhere to all bank policies and procedures
  • Maintain a good record of attendance and punctuality

What We're Looking For

Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One (1) or more years of experience in a customer service role
  • Two (2) years cash handling experience in a financial institution or combination of education and experience  
  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational abilities 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to make effective decisions under pressure 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred

  • Working knowledge of banking rules and regulations
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) ability
