The Opportunity
We are seeking a
Substance Use Counselor
to provide intake, assessment, treatment planning, and counseling for clients in BCRI's 3.7 residential treatment unit. In this role, you'll meet clients at a pivotal point in their recovery journey — conducting biopsychosocial assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing both individual and group counseling. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that every client receives high-quality, coordinated care.

What You'll Do

  • Provide individual and group counseling for clients in 3.7 residential treatment.
  • Complete biopsychosocial (BPS) assessments and initial treatment plans upon admission.
  • Review progress with clients and update treatment goals in collaboration with the care team.
  • Document all services in Credible (electronic medical record).
  • Prepare and submit initial and concurrent authorizations to payors/insurers.
  • Complete discharge summaries and coordinate discharge planning with the client's care team.
  • Act as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders as assigned.
  • Uphold BCRI policies, expectations, and behavioral competencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that align with the scope of the role.

Qualifications
Qualifications

  • Education & Credentials: Associate's Degree and CSC-AD (or higher).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years working with individuals in the public behavioral health system (preferred).

  • Skills & Requirements:

  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license (required).

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (required).
  • Experience with EHR/EMR systems (preferred).

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk/computer and standing, bending, and reaching.
  • Must occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
