Job Title: Disease Intervention Specialist/Public Health Rep 4Location: Nashville, TN/HybridDuration: 14+ Months7am to 3.30pmThe contractor will be expected to be in office two days a week according to which rotation they are placed onThis contractor will work as a Disease Intervention Specialist/Public Health Rep 4 alongside existing STI staff to ensure interviews, partner services, testing and re-testing of patients and partners are conducted and ensure case is treated appropriately, particularly among priority populations such as women of reproductive age with rise in congenital syphilis cases and men who have sex with men. STI rates have increased year over year for the last five years in TN, including particularly concerning increases in gonorrhea (74%), syphilis (62%), and congenital syphilis (>300%). These increases in STI illnesses have increased the need for staff to conduct quality STI investigation and partner services in our regional and local health departments. This position is requested to assist the MCR STI staff with such activities to prevent and control infectious disease. This contractor would be expected to complete the minimum trainings required of a DIS 1 within their first 6 months of employment and should specifically complete the online modules for Passport to Partner Services prior to conducting partner services activities. See a more detailed DIS 1 job description attached.Minimum Qualifications:Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in social work or other related field.Substitution of Experience for Education: Qualifying full-time professional health program field experience as a disease specialist that has completed "ISTDI" or "Passport to Partner Services" DIS training that involves investigation, prevention, or treatment of individuals with communicable diseases may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of four years. Other Requirements: Necessary Special Qualifications: A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.Examination Method: Education and Experience, 100%, for Preferred Service positions.
