Senior Preconstruction Manager – Education/Municipal Markets

Location:
Atlanta, GA (Hybrid up to 16 hours/week)

Winter Construction is hiring a
Senior Preconstruction Manager
to lead estimating and preconstruction work across our Education and Municipal markets. This is a high-impact role where you'll shape project budgets, mentor junior team members, and work closely with clients, architects, and consultants.

What you'll do:

  • Lead preconstruction efforts for commercial projects in the education and municipal sectors
  • Manage estimating processes, quantity take-offs, and bid day spreadsheets
  • Oversee junior estimators and preconstruction interns, providing mentorship and support
  • Collaborate with project executives, owners, architects, and consultants to define scope and budgets
  • Present budgets, proposals, and cost models to clients
  • Make sure all estimates are accurate and align with Winter's standards
  • Help support business development by offering pricing strategies and market insight

What we're looking for:

  • Based in Metro Atlanta or willing to relocate
  • Strong recent experience with a commercial general contractor
  • Hands-on experience with both ground-up and renovation projects
  • Comfortable managing junior staff and interns
  • Skilled in estimating software and confident with bid day spreadsheets
  • Strong communicator who can lead presentations and work well with clients and design partners

It's a plus if you have:

  • Experience in higher education, K-12, or municipal projects
  • Familiarity with CMAR and design-build delivery
  • Strong local subcontractor relationships
  • LEED/AP credentials or other sustainability-related experience
