We are seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Remote AP Macroeconomics and Microeconomics Tutor to help high school students excel in their Advanced Placement (AP) Macroeconomics and Microeconomics exams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in economics, exceptional teaching skills, and the ability to engage and motivate students in a virtual learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Online Tutoring Sessions: Provide engaging one-on-one or group tutoring sessions via video conferencing tools, focusing on the AP Macroeconomics and Microeconomics curricula.
  • Develop Customized Study Plans: Assess students' strengths and weaknesses and create tailored study plans that address individual needs and goals.
  • Teach Core Concepts and Analytical Skills: Instruct students on key economic principles, theories, and analytical techniques required for AP Macroeconomics and Microeconomics exams.
  • Monitor Student Progress: Regularly evaluate student performance, provide constructive feedback, and adjust instructional methods to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Resource Creation: Develop and share practice materials, mock exams, and other resources to enhance learning and preparation for AP exams.
  • Stay Updated: Keep abreast of changes to the AP Macroeconomics and Microeconomics curricula and exam formats, as well as advancements in online education technology and methods.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Education, or a related field. Advanced degrees or teaching certifications are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching or tutoring AP Macroeconomics and/or AP Microeconomics, with a proven track record of helping students achieve high scores.
  • Subject Expertise: Deep understanding of the AP Macroeconomics and Microeconomics curricula and exam structures.
  • Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with online teaching platforms, digital whiteboards, and educational software.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex economic concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students to foster a supportive learning environment.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate students' schedules.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as an AP Exam Reader/Grader for the College Board.
  • Familiarity with College Board standards and expectations for AP Economics exams.
  • Previous experience teaching AP Economics in a high school setting.
  • Experience with other standardized tests or advanced economics courses.
  • Previous online teaching or tutoring experience.
  • Certification in test preparation or economics instruction.
