Job description:

Van Allen LLC seeks an extraordinary accountant with strong state tax experience. The practice group has numerous cases throughout the United States. The firm represents dozens of the largest businesses in the United States. Our firm currently has an opening for the position of Sales Tax Consultant, with CPA license, to assist with the handling of various tax appeals nationally. However, no legal field experience is necessary. This position is for experienced applicants for full-time remote employment. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required. The successful candidate must demonstrate exceptional academic background, attention to details, advanced knowledge of Excel and a Commitment to Excellence.

Responsibilities

· Prepare and execute high-value tax refund appeals

· Communicate directly with clients

· Review, analyze, and organize client documents and data

· Work together with Attorneys and staff to ensure viability and accuracy of appeals

· Document and prepare various detailed and summary spreadsheets

· Collaborate with co-workers to balance priorities and manage multiple open projects

· Conduct transaction payment reconciliations

Qualifications

· Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required

· Strong understanding of state taxes, including sales and use taxes

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Advanced understanding of Microsoft applications including Word and Excel.

· Motivated, Reliable, and Energetic

Base salary is between $85,000 and $110,000 per year plus medical / dental / vision insurance, 401(k), paid vacation time, as well as other perks. Applicants may reside anywhere in the continental United States.
