The Maintenance Tech III handles all equipment repairs, equipment PM's necessary to keep production equipment operating with minimal downtime. The focus is on ensuring efficient and effective economics of operations, and achievement of maintenance department goals while projecting a positive and approachable attitude.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: List accountabilities and where possible the measurable result of the activity

  • Must have minimum of five plus years in an Industrial Maintenance position and have these with the following skills:

  • The Maintenance Tech III must have the ability to diagnose and repair 480 Volt 3-phase, 220 Volt & 110 Volt single phase Motor Starters, Contacts Controls.

  • The Maintenance Tech III will have the electrical and mechanical skills to troubleshoot 480 volt 3-phase Motors, DC motors up to 700 HP and small single phase 110 volt & 220 volts motors replaced if needed.

  • The Maintenance Tech III will have the aptitude to read and understand electrical schematics for equipment controls, determine equipment failures, and knowledge to make repairs to the electrical controls.

  • The Maintenance Tech III will have the skills to read PLC Control logic and troubleshoot PLC Controls at input and output levels.

  • The Maintenance Tech III must be proficient at understanding, setting up, and troubleshooting raw material Feeder Systems.

  • The Maintenance Tech III will have the ability to troubleshoot, determine mechanical issues which may include the replacement of hydraulics/pneumatics valves, pumps, blowers, gearboxes and slide-gates.

  • The Maintenance Tech III will have the skills to use an Arch, Wire, and Cutting welding equipment to make minor repairs or fabrication of parts.

  • The Maintenance Tech III will be able to work required hours to provide coverage that may fall outside their regular schedule. ie: weekend coverage.

  • Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, environmental, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondences. Ability to speak effectively and relay information to management.

  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Special Skills Identified for Position

Basic Knowledge of extruders and accompanying equipment, along with the ability to trouble shoot this equipment.

Work Environment

This job function is performed in both a manufacturing and non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.

  • Some exposure to outside work will be required.
  • The noise level ranges from quiet to moderately loud.
  • Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles.

Experience, Education/Training and License

  • Previous electrical experience

  • Previous mechanical experience

  • Total five plus years of Industrial Maintenance experience

  • Forklift
