Expressive Art Therapist – Full Time

This is a Full-Time Position that requires working at least 32 hours per month for the evening shift (3:00p-11:30p).

We have proudly served the residents of the greater Boston area since 1909. Our medical staff consists of psychiatrists who average 20 years of practice at our facility, providing a solid and trusted foundation for our patient-focused approach to behavioral healthcare. We are an important community resource for a wide range of vital behavioral healthcare services. We treat primary psychiatric and substance abuse disorders and constantly strive to meet the needs of our communities with treatment that address individualized behavioral health needs. We stand ready to provide compassionate care through inpatient treatment and a strong continuum of aftercare services, community-based programs, and day treatment.

The Expressive Art Therapist is an important member of the Arbour Hospital's inpatient multidisciplinary treatment team. The Group Therapist provides expressive arts therapy, psychoeducational groups, and recreational activities on Arbour Hospital's inpatient psychiatric units.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial activity therapy assessment to develop appropriate treatment goals
• Facilitate 4 groups per day
• Complete group documentation and communicate with other members of the treatment team via treatment planning and team meetings
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation

Requirements

• Master's Degree in social work, mental health counseling, or in a related field required
• 6 months experience as a group leader in a psychiatric hospital, partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient treatment program preferred
