Job Summary:

We are a high volume and growing personal injury law firm seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Billing Specialist to join our team. This individual will be responsible for negotiating medical bill reductions with providers and ensuring accurate, timely finalization of client settlements. The ideal candidate will be comfortable communicating with medical providers, organized with documentation, and passionate about helping clients retain as much of their settlement as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contact and negotiate with medical providers and lien holders to reduce outstanding medical bills.
  • Review medical billing statements and lien documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Work closely with attorneys and case managers to finalize disbursement memos and settlement allocations.
  • Ensure all reductions are properly documented and compliant with firm and legal standards.
  • Track provider communications and maintain accurate records in the case management system.
  • Assist in resolving billing disputes or discrepancies.
  • Follow up regularly with providers to expedite the reduction process.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a personal injury law firm, medical billing, or insurance claims strongly preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management software
  • Understanding of billing practices.
  • Knowledge of liens, subrogation, and settlement processes is a plus.
