Position Overview:

We are seeking a Residency-Trained Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist to join our 32-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The ideal candidate will provide specialized clinical pharmacy services, collaborate with the PICU medical team, and help implement clinical programs that improve patient outcomes and optimize medication use.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct clinical pharmacy services in the PICU, including medication therapy management, dosing recommendations, and monitoring.
  • Participate in daily rounding with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor clinical pharmacy programs aimed at improving pediatric outcomes and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in supervising pharmacy team activities under the guidance of the Pharmacy Manager or Director.
  • Serve as a resource for medical staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding pediatric medication therapy.
  • Support continuous quality improvement initiatives and participate in hospital committees as needed.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
  • Completion of PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residency (or equivalent experience).
  • Current Texas Pharmacist License.
  • Clinical experience in PICU or acute care pediatrics.
  • Pharmacy Sterile Product Certification through in-house or accredited program.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to round with physicians and participate in hospital committees.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with hospital pharmacy systems and computer-assisted devices.
  • Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and pediatric medication protocols.
  • Advanced training or fellowship experience in pediatric pharmacotherapy.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $145, $180,000.00 per year
