Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Food Preparation Worker to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. This role involves preparing ingredients, assisting in cooking, and ensuring that all food items are prepared according to our established recipes and guidelines. A background in the food industry, particularly in dietary departments or restaurants, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assemble ingredients for meals according to menu specifications.
  • Assist in cooking and meal preparation, ensuring adherence to recipes and portion control.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling practices.
  • Follow food safety protocols to ensure all meals are safe for consumption.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during meal periods.
  • Participate in menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes or improvements.
  • Utilize knife skills effectively for food preparation tasks.
  • Support catering efforts as needed, including setup and serving of meals.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred.
  • Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation techniques, and cooking methods.
  • Experience in food service or restaurant environments is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of food handling and safety regulations.
  • Culinary experience with demonstrated knife skills is highly valued.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining quality standards.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with other kitchen staff.
