The Billing Specialist position at Mathis Home Improvements, Inc. is designed for an individual who thrives on detail-oriented tasks and has a strong knack for financial accuracy. In this role, you will handle all aspects of client billing, ensuring that payments are processed efficiently and effectively, maintaining our commitment to client satisfaction and fiscal responsibility.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Generate and issue invoices to clients based on services rendered and/or contractual obligations.
  • Process and verify invoice details and terms to ensure compliance with both company and client stipulations.
  • Monitor accounts receivable to ensure that payments are up to date, and follow up on any delinquent accounts.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports concerning billing activities, highlighting aging status and payment discrepancies.
  • Maintain and update customer billing information, including contact information, payment terms, and billing schedules.
  • Coordinate with the sales and customer service teams to resolve any billing inquiries or inconsistencies.
  • Utilize various software programs and tools to streamline the billing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Implement and adhere to the company's financial procedures and policies regarding billing, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the billing department by suggesting improvements in processes and efficiencies.
  • Assist with audit preparation by providing necessary billing documentation and explanations of billing flows.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a billing or invoicing position.
  • High proficiency in accounting software and Excel, particularly with functions relevant to billing and financial tracking.
  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, necessary for interacting with stakeholders and resolving payment issues.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to efficiently handle and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to billing and finance.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial and customer data.
  • Experience working in a remote setting, demonstrating self-discipline and the ability to work independently.
