Role Summary / Purpose
Seeking a Civil Engineering professional with experience in the nuclear power generation industry to support advanced structural analysis activities.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tasks, and experience with specialized engineering tools.
Essential Responsibilities
· Analysis and design of structures, including concrete, steel and composite structures
· Prepare and review technical and building specifications, design criteria for civil structural engineering projects
· Prepare and review engineering calculations, and design reports
· Provide structural specifications for cranes, lifting devices and be familiar with their designs
· Develop and review technical specifications for concrete material and testing requirements
· Aging management and FMEA according to Canadian standards requirements
· Working with the following codes preferred: AISC N690, ACI 349 & 318, ASCE 43, ASCE 4, ASCE 7, IBC, and, Steel Construction Manual and Seismic Design Manual.
Qualifications / Requirements
· Nuclear experience is highly preferred
· P. Eng. (Canada candidates), P.E. (US candidates) certification is highly preferred
· Computer programing skills (e.g. Matlab, or Python) is preferred.
