Our client, a well-established engineering and consulting firm known for its innovative, multidisciplinary approach, is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Principal – Civil Engineering (Design) to lead complex civil design and land development projects in the Houston market.

This leadership role is ideal for a seasoned professional who excels at client engagement, team mentorship, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions that shape growing communities.

Key responsibilities for this role will include (but are not limited to):
  • Lead and manage the planning, design, and execution of civil/site and infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure technical excellence and client satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain client relationships while identifying new business opportunities.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to deliver integrated, multidisciplinary solutions.
  • Provide technical oversight and quality assurance for engineering plans and reports.
  • Support proposal development, cost estimating, and contract negotiations.
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
  • Contribute to strategic and business development initiatives within the region.
Required and desired skillsets, experience, and qualifications for this role:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • 15+ years of experience in civil/site design or land development.
  • Strong project management background with proven financial and client oversight experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design software (e.g., HEC-RAS, WaterCAD).
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating multiple project types.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
  • Established client relationships within the Houston or regional market preferred.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams for documentation and presentations.
