As a Technical Designer at HPI (High Performance Identity), you will be joining a dynamic product development team based in Dunwoody, GA. This is a full-time opportunity for a candidate who is meticulous with details and driven by the technical and creative aspect of the design process. The Technical Designer of apparel will join an existing team of product developers. The person in this role will bring with their drive and passion for developing technically sound garments. This position requires a creative thinker who can collaborate with the existing team, outside vendors, and across all levels of the organization. This position does occasionally require travel, but not as a general rule.

What YOU Will Do

  • Create detailed and comprehensive technical specification packages in Centric PLM system. Advanced attention to detail and ability in managing multiple projects at the same time is required.
  • Create graded specs for garment development with accurate and specific POM's. (No pattern making)
  • Conduct fit sessions on model or dress form. Evaluate pre-production to top-of-production styles, identify necessary corrections and clearly communicate detailed comments to factory representatives.
  • Firm knowledge of Adobe Illustrator to create technical drawings and edit graphic art for screen print embroidery, labels and trims..
  • Clear understanding of screen print and embroidery applications for apparel.
  • Strong background working with both knit and woven fabrics.
  • Bring innovative ideas and solutions to the products and processes of the Product Development team.
  • Illustrate pattern corrections and style comments using photography and various platforms.
  • Collaborate with design team, sourcing and quality team to ensure desired product is achieved.
  • Evaluate lab dips, fabric, labels, graphics and trim submits and maintain filing system.
  • Request, monitor and record fabric and garment testing.

Who YOU Are

  • Bachelor's Degree in Apparel Design, Product Development, Technical Design or related field
  • 3-7+ years' work experience in technical design, apparel design or patternmaking
  • Understanding of garment construction, grading and patterns
  • In-depth knowledge of fabric, apparel, materials, construction and fit
  • Experience with PLM system preferred
  • Adobe Illustrator experience required
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience required
  • Hybrid, in office minimum 2 days a week required. Must be flexible to come to office on as needed based on customer needs and meetings.
