The Workday Extend - Model Components Team creates the building blocks of Extend Applications i.e Business Objects, Business Processes, Reports, Tasks and Security Domains, that will enable customers to define their own metadata models and workflows which will live alongside & interact with native Workday owned metadata

Our team is looking for a Sr. Associate Software Engineer who will contribute to the design and development of the Core Architecture to power the persistence components that make up a Workday Extend application.

About The Role
This role will support one or more direct or indirect contracts with the U.S. Federal Government which, due to federal government security requirements, mandates that all Workday personnel working on the contracts be United States citizens (naturalized or native).

• Collaborate with peers, product owners, and designers to design, build, test, and deliver high-quality software to our quickly growing developer community
• Write clear, efficient, and scalable code with an eye towards maintainability
• Participate in design and code reviews
• Discover and solve issues with existing architecture and code
• Polish, improve, and innovate with regards to the existing code base
• Support the release planning by understanding the details (effort, risk, priority) of the planned features in an agile environment
• Own and contribute to team productivity/process improvements

About You
Basic Qualifications (SDE III)

• 5+ years experience in Object Oriented Design and Programming - proficient in Java/Kotlin
• 5+ years of software and systems delivery experience
• BS/MS in Computer Science or related fields

Basic Qualifications (SDE II)

• 3+ years experience in Object Oriented Design and Programming - proficient in Java/Kotlin
• 3+ years of software and systems delivery experience
• BS/MS in Computer Science or related fields

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong in algorithms and data structures
• Experience with REST, including good API design
• Experience with microservice architecture/ distributed systems, concurrency and/or multithreading
• Proficiency with major development tools like git/ Docker/ Gradle, Jenkins
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Experienced at leading complex projects requiring prototyping & designs from the ground-up
• Strong communication/organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities.
• Ability to work with product managers to support release planning by understanding the details (effort, risk, priority) of the planned features
• Experience working in an Agile environment

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate's compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $106,400 USD - $159,600 USD

Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $101,100 USD - $180,000 USD
