Overview

The Director, Nonprofit Business Development Leader
 is a senior sales and strategy professional responsible for driving Techbridge's growth and partnerships within the nonprofit sector. This highly visible role combines 
technical fluency

 to develop strategic relationships, close high-value opportunities, and scale Techbridge's mission impact.

Reporting to the 
Vice President of Community Impact
, the Director will lead all aspects of business development—cultivating new partnerships, advancing technology adoption across nonprofits, and ensuring measurable impact through innovative digital transformation.

This role requires a self-starter who understands nonprofit business models, has a successful record selling technology-driven solutions, and thrives at the intersection of social impact and innovation.

Business Development, Sales & Strategy

  • Lead all nonprofit business development efforts and own the full sales lifecycle for Techbridge's technology products and services.

  • Leverage 
    technical expertise
     to identify, position, and sell solutions—including data management, CRM systems, and digital infrastructure enhancements—to nonprofit clients.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales and growth strategy aligned with Techbridge's mission and revenue goals (minimum annual target: $1M+).

  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline using Salesforce, ensuring accurate forecasting and visibility.

  • Partner with Product and Delivery teams to translate nonprofit needs into scalable, tech-enabled solutions.

  • Prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and narratives that communicate ROI, impact, and innovation.

  • Represent Techbridge at conferences, industry events, and networking engagements as a thought leader and advocate for technology in the social sector.

  • Lead RFP development and proposal processes with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality submissions.

  • Conduct market and competitive research to identify emerging nonprofit technology trends and new opportunities for growth.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Demonstrate 
    deep understanding of nonprofit operations, funding models, and digital transformation challenges
    .

  • Build executive-level relationships with nonprofit, foundation, and community collaborative leaders.

  • Serve as the internal and external connector across departments, ensuring clarity and alignment across all sales and delivery functions.

  • Champion Techbridge's mission while meeting and exceeding business development goals.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, transparency, and collaboration across the Community Impact team.

Customer Success & Engagement

  • Partner with nonprofits to assess their technology and data needs, aligning solutions to organizational goals and capacity.

  • Collaborate with Delivery, Consulting, Finance, and Product teams to ensure seamless customer experience.

  • Identify opportunities for repeat engagements, renewals, and cross-sell of complementary solutions.

  • Measure and report on customer satisfaction, retention, and overall impact.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to nonprofit clients, bridging the gap between technology and mission delivery.

Operational & Delivery Excellence

  • Oversee revenue reports, forecasting, project budgets, and customer profitability metrics.

  • Monitor and improve sales performance through data-driven insights and Salesforce reporting.

  • Ensure delivery of projects on time, on budget, and with measurable client satisfaction.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes, improve delivery efficiency, and optimize the customer journey.

  • Partner with Project Managers and Finance on forecasting, billing, and P&L accountability.

  • Lead by example with integrity, empathy, and results-oriented leadership.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Achieve $1million revenue goal

  • Annual revenue growth and sales goal achievement

  • Customer retention and satisfaction (NPS)

  • Expansion and renewal rate of nonprofit clients

  • Pipeline health and conversion metrics

  • Technology adoption and implementation success across clients

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional experience
     in business development, technology sales or equivalent, or consulting within the 
    nonprofit and/or social impact technology sector
    .

  • Proven record of selling and implementing technology solutions
     (e.g., CRM systems, SaaS platforms, cloud applications, or data analytics) to nonprofit organizations.

  • Strong understanding of nonprofit operations, funding, and program delivery.

  • Advanced Salesforce proficiency, including CRM pipeline management and reporting.

  • Deep technical literacy and ability to translate complex technology concepts into accessible nonprofit use cases.

  • Experience leading customer-facing and cross-functional teams across multiple regions.

  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and forecasting revenue.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

  • Data-driven mindset with a commitment to measurable impact.

  • Passion for social innovation and using technology to create equitable opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree in business, nonprofit management, or technology-related field.

  • Certifications in Salesforce, business development, or project management.

  • Experience in SaaS or digital transformation sales for mission-driven organizations.
