POSITION SUMMARY

Mount Saint Joseph High School is seeking a dependable and versatile individual to support campus operations in the areas of facility maintenance and grounds/landscaping. This full-time, hourly position plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Facilities Technician

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs across campus buildings in the areas of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and facility emergencies
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Assist with setup and breakdown for school events and functions
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supply inventory

Grounds & Landscaping

  • Maintain the appearance and safety of outdoor areas, including lawns, gardens, parking lots, sidewalks, and athletic fields
  • Operate landscaping equipment such as mowers, blowers, and snow removal tools
  • Perform seasonal tasks such as leaf removal, snow/ice management, and planting
  • Monitor grounds for hazards and assist with minor outdoor repairs or improvements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; trade certifications or vocational training preferred
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience in maintenance, transportation, or groundskeeping
  • Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Hands-on knowledge of facility systems and landscaping practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and on a team
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks in all weather conditions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
