At sunday, we are building the fastest way to pay in restaurants. Our mission is simple: to bring joy back to dining by removing the friction of paying. We launched in 2021 and are growing fast across the US and Europe. We're obsessed with solving real problems for restaurateurs and guests alike. We work fast, we dream big, and we execute with excellence.
About the RoleAs sunday scales, our product organization is expanding rapidly. We're setting up new squads to give each product area more focus and ownership. To maintain a high standard of quality and ensure alignment across initiatives, each designer will support a maximum of two product teams.
We're now looking for a Product Designer to join one of our larger squads, working closely with a Lead Product Designer to bring ideas to life. Taking a hands-on approach across the full design process, from planning and conducting user research, to shaping and delivering thoughtful, user-centered design solutions. They will collaborate closely with your squad to uncover insights, validate ideas, and create experiences that have a real impact on our users. In this role, they will also play a key part in our goal to better understand and design for our fast-growing US market, helping ensure our products meet the needs of local users and business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- UX Research & Discovery-Make use of our operations team and restaurant partnerships to plan and conduct interviews to uncover insights, validate ideas, and inform design decisions. Partner with the Senior Product Designer to translate findings into clear opportunities for improvement.
- Design Execution-Create thoughtful, high-quality, and consistent designs across platforms. Use prototypes and visual explorations to communicate ideas, gather feedback, and refine solutions efficiently.
- Collaboration-Work seamlessly with the other Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to bring ideas to life. Contribute to squad rituals, support alignment, and help ensure a seamless user experience across touchpoints.
- User Experience & Iteration-Use data, user insights, and market awareness to continuously improve the user journey. Balance user needs and business goals while iterating quickly based on feedback and learnings.
- Design Systems & Consistency-Contribute to our shared design system, helping maintain consistency and scalability across products. Ensure your work aligns with established patterns and visual standards.
- Growth & Continuous Improvement-Learn from your peers and share your own expertise. Actively seek feedback, contribute to design critiques, and help raise the overall quality and impact of design at sunday.
- Independence & Global Collaboration-You'll be part of our new US-based product team, collaborating closely with global teammates across time zones. You should be comfortable working independently, taking initiative, and managing your own workflow while staying connected to the wider design team.
- Experience: +4 years in product design within fast-paced environments (startup, tech, or SaaS).
- Craft: Strong UX and UI design skills with a clear, high-quality portfolio.
- End-to-End Approach: Able to move from strategy and discovery to polished execution.
- Technical Understanding: Familiar with product development, constraints, and implementation realities.
- Collaboration: Communicates clearly and thrives in a team-oriented environment.
- Independence & Accountability: Able to take ownership of tasks and work independently, particularly in a globally distributed team, while remaining aligned with squad and organizational priorities.

- Product & Business Orientation: Designs with attention to user needs and business goals, contributing to measurable impact.
- Market Awareness: Understands users, trends, and competitors to find opportunities.
- Design Leadership: Gives feedback, shares inspiration, and raises the quality bar.
- Mindset: Curious, proactive, and comfortable with ambiguity.
