Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
Communications Engineering Project Manager
to lead the delivery of communications infrastructure projects for a major utilities provider in San Antonio. This 6-month contract role will focus on managing the design, implementation, and integration of communications systems that support power generation and distribution operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Leadership
• Plan, execute, and oversee communications engineering projects from initiation to closeout.
• Manage timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
• Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and contractors to meet technical and operational goals.
• Technical Oversight
• Supervise the deployment of communications systems including SCADA, fiber optics, microwave, and radio networks.
• Ensure systems are designed and implemented in compliance with utility standards and regulatory requirements.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Stakeholder Engagement
• Serve as the primary liaison between engineering, operations, IT, and external partners.
• Provide regular project updates to leadership and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.
• Risk & Compliance Management
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
• Support permitting and inspection processes as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a related field.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing communications or utility infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of utility-grade communications systems and protocols.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working with public utilities or municipal energy providers.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems, network architecture, and field communications.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance in the energy sector.
