We believe real estate decisions should be data-first, transparent, and scalable, so that complex development projects become more predictable, capital-efficient, and aligned with stakeholder goals. We're growing our U.S. investment analytics team and looking for an Investment Portfolio Analyst who is passionate about real estate, modelling, and turning data into actionable investment strategy.

About the Role

As a Real Estate Investment Analyst at UnlockLand, you will be part of a dynamic team that merges real estate investment strategy with AI-powered insights. You'll conduct financial modeling, evaluate development and acquisition opportunities, and help drive the investment logic behind UnlockLand's decision intelligence platform.

This position is ideal for analytical thinkers who want to bridge the gap between finance, technology, and urban development—and play a key role in scaling one of the most innovative PropTech startups in North America.

Key ResponsibilitiesMarket & Investment Research

  • Research macro trends, regional markets, and emerging PropTech sectors.
  • Analyze real estate transactions, development pipelines, and zoning updates across key U.S. metros.
  • Support UnlockLand's proprietary Market Intelligence Dashboard with up-to-date data feeds and insights.

Financial Analysis & Modeling

  • Build financial models and valuation frameworks (IRR, DCF, NPV, scenario analysis) for investment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to integrate AI outputs into development feasibility models.
  • Evaluate capital stack structures, returns, and project sensitivity for land, multifamily, and mixed-use projects.

Due Diligence & Portfolio Support

  • Conduct due diligence for co-investments, partnerships, and strategic acquisitions.
  • Prepare investment memos and presentations for internal investment committee review.
  • Monitor portfolio performance metrics and assist with quarterly reporting.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with product and engineering teams to refine AI valuation algorithms and risk mapping tools.
  • Support business development with insight decks and financial storytelling for investor presentations.
  • Contribute to UnlockLand's research publications and investment outlooks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or Data Analytics
  • 2–4 years of experience in real estate finance, investment banking, private equity, or PropTech
  • Strong command of financial modeling (Excel/Python/Power BI)
  • Understanding of zoning, urban economics, and capital structures
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Preferred Skills

  • CFA, CAIA, or ARGUS experience a plus
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, PitchBook, CoStar, or Reonomy
  • Interest in AI, sustainability, and geospatial analytics
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment
